Wichita, the state’s largest city, is known as the “Air Capital of the World” thanks to its friendly flying conditions and the fact that many aircraft pioneers came from the area. Topeka, the capital, is home to the Combat Air Museum at Forbes Field as well as the Topeka Zoo and the Kansas Museum of History.
